  1. You have to be a not for profit incorporated society with income tax exemption to apply for grants from what I understand. Applying for grants will be an agenda item at this year's AWI AGM now that we have got our tax exemption sorted. As a few of the ASNZ clubs have now become incorporated you might see a few of them apply for grants this year as well so it might pay to watch this space to see who has success or not.

  3. Only 3 days to go until the inaugural AWI Rifle and Pistol Competition. This event will continue regardless of weather due to the IPSC stages being built indoors. Registration opens from 9:00am with guns and ammo to presented for inspection at this time. Strict safety rules will be implemented on when guns can be loaded as per competition rules. Please ensure guns and magazines are unloaded at time of registration inspection. A detailed safety briefing will be provided once registration is completed to ensure all competitors understand competition rules and the commands that they will receive during stages. A practice range for sighting in pistols and rifles and practicing drawing from holster will be provided. All competitors will be expected to help with scoring and stage resets as per custom at these events. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this Sunday and presenting the medals and trophies to the winning competitors at the end of the day.

The competition will consist of players competing in a series of speed and accuracy challenges to determine the fastest and most accurate player of the event. Trophies and medals will be awarded to players who get 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the pistol and rifle categories. Date: Sunday 30 November Location: 20 Gulland Road, Pokeno Cost: $30 per competitor includes BBQ lunch with 2 sausages and drink Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm Competition Stages: Pistol Stages 2 x IPSC Stages- Short stage up to 9 rounds and Large stage up to 36 rounds with mandatory magazine change 2 x Steel Challenge Stages - Showdown and Smoke & Hope Texas Star Quickest Time Rifle Stages 2 x Steel Challenge Stages - Pendulum & Accelerator Clay Target Quickest Time Paddock Run Stage Stages will be marked based on speed and accuracy of hitting all required targets. No biovals, clear or metal bb ammo to be used at event. A minimum of 500 rounds of any bb weight ammo to be brought to event by competitor. Safety eyewear that is impact rated to withstand close range impact from an airsoft bb. Mesh eyewear is acceptable but used at competitor’s own risk. Pistol Stage Gear Requirements 1 x Airsoft Semi-Auto GBB Pistol . A minimum FPS of 250 on .20g ammo is required for target hit recognition. No sub-machine pistols are permitted. 3 x Pistol magazines with a minimum of 15 rounds and maximum of 30 rounds loaded during event. The ability to retain 2 Pistol magazines on your body while moving during a shooting stage. A Hip or Leg holster for retaining pistol while moving through a stage. Hip holster highly recommended.
